Whitechapel Handbells

The 11th puzzle is available and the proceeds from the sales of these Wentworth jigsaws will go to the CC Bell Restoration Fund.

The Handbell Ringers of Great Britain have kindly given permission for this photograph to be reproduced as an intriguing puzzle. It shows part of the Woodroyd Handbell Ringers’ refurbished competition set of Whitechapel handbells, now used by HRGB to introduce new ringers to the art of tune ringing on handbells. The photograph was taken by David Bolsover Photography of Sheffield

The CC Bell Restoration Fund’s income comes entirely from legacies, donations, the sale of items such as these jigsaws and interest, and the amount available varies significantly from year to year.

When funds are available, applications for grants are invited by notices in The Ringing World and on the website, generally in December or January. All available money is allocated in accordance with the criteria and priorities established by the Central Council.

Wentworth puzzles make an excellent gift. They challenge those who enjoy jigsaws that intrigue, frustrate and confuse! There are straight edges inside the puzzle and a set of musical “whimsies” (so-called because Victorian puzzle cutters included them ‘on a whim’).

This wooden puzzle contains 250 pieces and measures: 250mm x 360mm (10″ x 14″). It is available by cheque payable to: CCCBR at £23 +£3 p+p within the UK from Stella Bianco, Oaklands, West Chiltington Lane, Broadford Bridge, Billingshurst RH14 9EA Email: (email)
